Enjoy Spacious Luxury in the Mazda6

The Mazda6 is the most spacious sedan in the automaker's lineup, and it delivers an upscale vibe along with all the features you could want. The Mazda6 follows the KODO Soul of Motion design language you will find on other Mazda models as well. This means that it has dynamic lines and an overall style that gives the sedan the impression of movement even when it standing still.

You can customize your Mazda6 with one of three trim levels along with a range of options and accessories. It will always deliver an upscale feel thanks to standard features like leather on the shift knob and steering wheel and 6-way adjustment for the front seats. Or you can enjoy heated seats, 8-way power adjustment for the driver, and more. Every recent Mazda6 also has a 7-inch touchscreen with the MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system, as well, and offers a range of advanced safety features and navigation options.

Updates on the 2017 Mazda6

The 2017 Mazda6 will mostly be familiar to those who know the 2016 model well. Even so, you will notice interior tweaks along with a whole slew of safety technology upgrades. Although the same three trim levels are offered on the 2017 Mazda6, those who want even more luxury will love the new Grand Touring Premium Package that mimics the top features of the CX-9 Signature. It gives you i-ELOOP regenerative braking, a heated steering wheel with special stitching, heated rear seats, sport seats trimmed in Nappa leather, Active Grille Shutters, LED accent lighting in the shifter area, a black headliner, and a bright finish on the power seat switches as well as the glove compartment knob.

Other than this newly available package, you will also notice that the 2017 Mazda6 sports slightly reshaped exterior mirrors, and you can now opt for a Machine Gray Metallic exterior. Inside, the features and materials have been upgraded, and there is a new steering wheel, which is also the one found on the CX-9. The available memory settings for the driver's seat now include settings for the head-up display's content, brightness, and angle. You will also notice that the driver information display found in the instrument cluster now features color. When driving, you will notice the improvements Mazda made to the Mazda6's interior wind and road noise. Changes include extra sound insulation in the headliner, thicker glass within the front doors, and improved door seals. The Grand Touring trim even has laminated acoustic glass for the front doors. Finally, the available features from i-ActivSense for safety have expanded, including a Forward Sensing Camera and Traffic Sign Recognition.

Check Out How the Mazda6 Has Evolved through the Years

The first generation with the Mazda6 name arrived as a 2003 model that would be a replacement for the aging 626 as well as the Millenia. Even though it entered a crowded segment, the Mazda6 stood out thanks to its unique design and long list of features, both standard and optional. In 2004, the Mazda6 got wagon and hatchback body styles and there were minor adjustments to the option packages and trims, plus a newly available 6-speed transmission.

The 2006 Mazda6 got new fascia in the front and rear plus new side sills and a new grille. The V6 engine had reduced emissions and slightly lower horsepower. This year also saw the addition of standard ABS and traction control plus side curtain and side impact airbags. The Mazda6 was again redesigned for 2009, getting more technology and modern styling. The 2014 Mazda6 brought a new generation, and a model that closely resembles the current one.
